Anwaar Alghamdi received her bachelor degree in electrical and computer engineering from the first public university in Saudi Arabia that provides engineering programs for female students, King Abdulaziz University (KAU) in Jeddah. During her time at KAU she worked with worldwide top-notch researchers at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST).

She has varied interests ranging from systems theory and robotics, to electronics and computer networks. She developed an indoor positioning system using RF and ultrasound waves with Dr. Talal Al Attar as a summer research intern in his LAB. For her capstone project, she worked with the Robotics, Intelligent Systems and Control (RISC) LAB team at KAUST to develop onboard real-time localization scheme utilizing UWB time-of-flight sensors for autonomous multi-robot systems. And recently joined the Center of Excellence for Telecom Applications at KACST.

Anwaar's other interests include foreign languages, studying music, playing piano and painting. She has participated in her university art exhibition two years in a row.
