Wafa Alkhabbaz

Research Associate

Center of Excellence for Telecom Applications (CETA)

I am currently holding a Research assistant position at King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology, where my job is divided between academia and industry. Alongside carrying out research and publishing its results, I am also engaged in investigating problems and developing solutions to meet projects requirements. This is done by performing a complete System Development Life Cycle assessment starting with a detailed requirements analysis process and proceeding through design, deployment, and testing.

Within KACST, I learned to contribute to, and appreciate the value of research through working with scholars and research enthusiasts on various research tracks concerning data communications and the Internet of Things (IoT). Working in a cross-functional environment to architect, design and develop new interdisciplinary projects expanded my knowledge and experience in formal system development practices and equipped me with a good technical knowledge in statistical analysis via machine learning models.

My educational background includes a MS. In Telecommunications and Computer Networks from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia and a B.Sc in Computer Science from Prince Sultan University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
